Which is the best cleanser?
Cleansers play a crucial role in skin care. Every individual follows cleansing routine. We have moved beyond ‘soaps’ which are highly alkaline to various ingredients catering to different skin types and concerns, with benefits other than cleansing.
A good cleanser should tick most these boxes –
Should leave your skin feeling soft and supple
Skin should look fresh and bright post wash
Skin should not feel stretchy or dry post wash
Should not cause or exaggerate acne
Should not cause or increase redness
Should not make skin oily in next couple of hours
For Mature and sensitive skin – choose a gentle and hydrating cleanser or a cleanser with vitamin C and / or vitamin B3.
For oily and acne prone skin – a cleanser with AHA/BHA eg – glycolic acid, salicylic acid or mandelic acid is recommended.
For combination skin – a cleanser with glycolic or mandelic acid or a vitamin C or a Niacinamide based cleanser works well.
